I read the below article recently in the Wall Street Journal – Golf Journal and thought it was worth sharing. It accurately describes the challenges faced by golfers the world over as they strive to improve their game and struggle to understand why despite their best efforts they do not improve. There is another way.
Why Much of the Work Golfers Do to Improve Their Games Isn’t Helping Them Get Better

I have a great little golf course just outside of Albany NY (I actually live in Montville Ct)…the course is a small 9 hole par three course with no driving range….I’ve set up some nets and range mats and this I call the learning center….more and more my lessons are comprised of a short period at the nets and most of the lesson being spent on the golf course……students complain why they can’t hit the ball as well on the course as they do in the nets and it is the age old problem….this is a great article and I find myself teaching more and more on the course with less time at the nets or range.
Great work by you Dale to be creative and use the space you have available to help your players improve. I also love that you are spending time with them on the course. That is where the game is played and so much can be learned there that can not be learned only on the range. Keep up the good work.
