There is a lot of misinformation out there when it comes to the golf swing. One that I see a lot is that players have been told or read that they should “keep your head still” during the golf swing. They interpret this as keeping their head perfectly still. This swing thought has ruined many an athletic golf swing and robs players of distance and the ability to hit consistent golf shots. In this video I explain how the head should move and how you can easily incorporate the correct head motion into your own golf swing.

Very well explained Derek,
This is something that I need to work on.
How should the head move on the downswing Derek? I know it moves away from the ball on the back swing but what about the downswing? Should it then remain still or should it be moving towards the golf ball?
Thanks
Hi Troy, thanks for the positive feedback.
During the downswing the head would ideally return to where it was at address, but is now rotated slightly towards target. The head will also drop slightly towards the ground due to the motion of the body but should not move towards the golf ball.
I hope that helps.
All the best
Derek
